Alarm Confirmation
|
|
Audio alarm confirmation consists of a number of microphones positioned throughout the protected premises, normally located in or adjacent to detection devices. The audio controller is connected to the intruder alarm system and when the alarm system is set begins to record a continuous stream of audio, typically 60 seconds. If the alarm activates, the system stores the last 30 seconds (pre-alarm) and then records and stores the next 30 seconds (post-alarm). The remote signaling equipment reports the alarm activation to the central monitoring station in the usual way, the central station operator is then able to listen to the recorded pre and post alarm audio as well as listening in real-time to any on-site noises in order to determine if an intruder is on the premises. As all calls to the central monitoring station are recorded it may be possible to use this information as evidence for a prosecution or possibly allow the identification of the intruders. |
