Visual
Alarm Confirmation
The third method is known as visual alarm confirmation, this method consists of a number of cameras, either built into the intruder detectors or positioned adjacent to them. When an intruder detector activates the system automatically transmits pictures of the event from the camera adjacent to that detector to the central monitoring station. The camera is capable of producing acceptable images in quite low-level lighting but it is important that the lighting in the protected area is sufficient to allow a good picture to be transmitted. For this reason visual confirmation is most suited to larger commercial applications. |
