ACPO 2000 & Reducing False Alarms

Although many false alarms are due to user error, a significant number are attributed to automatic detection such as P.I.R. movement sensors, for example insects, draughts and other environmental conditions.
For more than a decade now we have been specifying Dual-Technology movement detectors for harsh environments, however in recent years it has been our policy to recommend these as an optional upgrade to all new customers as the primary means of reducing false alarms but particularly for remote signalling subscribers as a means of retaining level 1 police response.
The Rokonet “Cosmos” Dual-Technology movement sensors include the following features:
  • Uses both Infra Red (heat) and Microwave (solid object) detection, both of which have to verify an intrusion to confirm an alarm activation.
  • Metal shielded for improved RF immunity
  • Patented temperature compensation technology
  • Downward looking creep zone for improved security
  • Pet immune version also available
